Twelve Weeks Old

Edie hit a huge milestone this week. On Monday while hanging out in her crib doing tummy time, Edie rolled over from her tummy to her back! She's done it several times since then and seems satisfied every time. Actually, the photo you see below was difficult to take today as she was having so much fun rolling over.

She continues to love Ole and can now, quite deliberately, push him with her hand. She gets such a kick out of him and her new found abilities.

Our little Peanut Pumpkin is going to be a pumpkin ballerina this Halloween. We received the pumpkin hat as a gift and, boy, has Edie used it a lot this fall. My cousin Errin made Edie a darling tutu... so, we thought why not put the two together and make her a pumpkin ballerina? She'll be the only one out there, I'm sure :) I'll post some photos of her completed costume next week.

Trygstad Compound in the Fall

I love going out to my parent's home near Erhard, Minn. It's always fun, and peaceful... and there is always something cooking. Here are a few photos from a couple weeks ago. Kris was testing out some audio equipment... and my mum was lovin' Edie.

Kris' New Job

Kris posted this over on his personal blog yesterday, but, I thought we should put it on this blog as well... since we really haven't told everyone the good news.

---

As those who follow the Trygkerz family probably know already, I started a new job at Plains Art Museum in downtown Fargo at the end of September. My job title is Communication Manager which, you guessed it, means that I manage the information flow that comes out of the Museum. I write press releases, set up marketing plans, write copy for ads and, generally, handle the promotional/creative work that doesn't involve images (we have another guy, sharply talented, who does that).

Photobucket

It's a good job. In fact, it's probably one of the best jobs I could hope to have given my interests and skill set. I get to align my love of arts and culture with my love of a well-written piece of information. Even better, I get to work with a fantastic group of passionate people who all love the task of making a museum successful and meaningful.

I've learned a lot in my time there so far. I took over this position from a woman who worked for the Plains for 27 years, meaning she'd been doing this since I was four years old. In my two weeks training with her prior to her retirement, I received a master's class in the fine arts of promotion, marketing and information management. And, I've learned a lot about the operation of a non-profit, particularly running a non-profit in a time of economic stress.

Although I have a cubicle and share office space with the rest of our development department, I have a lot of room. My computer has sweet speakers and I can listen to music while I do my thing. The pace of business is just right. I have plenty to do but I'm given what I need to do it. The mood is typically positive and upbeat. I fit in well with my department mates, too.

I do miss the HoDo. That place was good to me. It offered me a chance to build skills and made me a firm believer in the Fargo downtown community, a lively place to be right now and only getting better. I didn't move that far away, though. Just a couple blocks to the west, and I can still hang out there and see the people with whom I spent six good years.

Suffice it say, I'm pleased with the new gig and feel fortunate to be happy in a good job with a well-respected organization while caring for a healthy daughter. It's good. Just plain good.

Eleven Weeks Old

Every week I say it, and every week I mean it, Edith has grown so much this week and is becoming more and more aware. She squeals in delight every time she sees her favorite toy/friend Ole, an Owl that entertains her in her carseat. We've determined Ole says only one thing... (in a Midwest Norwegian accent, of course) hoo, hoo, hoo... so.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month and the upcoming Bras on Broadway event at the Hotel Donaldson, I did a super pink theme for her eleven week photos.

Britta is a red head, again

Don't let my hair fool you, I am in no way a natural red head. But, alas, the red returns in full force. It's been a long time since I've had my hair colored, or cut, or really anything done to it. So, I made a trip to Salon Why? to get my hair beautified once more. Oh, I feel like myself again.

Ten Weeks Old

Chiperoo decided she wanted to nap all day yesterday and get up early today, so, here is her 10 week photo up a little earlier than normal.

Edie is doing very well. On Monday, she had her 2 month checkup. She's officially 11 lb, and 24(ish) inches long. This week she discovered her feet and her hands, though I'm not sure she knows what to do with them yet. She's also "talking" a whole lot, lots of gahs and ighs. It's pretty cute.

Last week she stayed with Faunt (Faux Aunt) Jenn for the first time. Jenn is my good friend from college and will be Edie's caretaker a couple days a week while I go back to work in the studio. We couldn't be luckier to have such a caring person watch our little Edie pants!

Nine Weeks Old

Don't let the photograph fool you, Edie has been quite the happy bug this week... I just thought we needed something different! So, here is Edie with at-it-tude... which we are fairly certain our little chipper will have a lot of in her near future.

Edie Visits PAM

Our Peanut-Pumpkin's "first" visit to the Plains Art Museum. Well, really not her first time there, but the first time she could enjoy a little art.
