Eight Weeks Old

Boy, oh, boy, did Edie have quite a week! With our niece Alicia getting married on Saturday, a whole lot of family came into town. So, our little Edie-pants was loved to pieces by her aunts and cousins all weekend long. I think she was so used to be held this weekend, she now doesn't want to be let down. Good thing I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

She's also been a kickin', punchin' machine! Her new favorite thing to do is lie flat on the floor and kick, kick away, all while making her trademark grunty noises with a few coos mixed in. It's pretty darn cute.

Edie is also sporting a new hair do this week. We call the unkempt, uncombed hair the Tom Waits. Not as cute as her little curlycue, but way more rockin'.

Congratulations Alicia & Matthew!

Our niece Alicia (Kris' sister Kim's eldest daughter) tied the knot yesterday with the lovely Matthew. It was a super lovely wedding day... very simple, very elegant, very Alicia & Matt. Expect tons of photos over on the photo blog sometime this week.

Congrats Alicia & Matthew!

Happy Birthday Kristopher!

Yesterday was the second Anniversary of Kris' 29th birthday. We were so busy celebrating our niece Alicia's marriage to Matthew that I didn't get a chance to post anything... but, I did get this photograph of Kris partying hard with his sisters!

Edie Smiles!

Edie smiles a lot in the morning. We're not sure where she gets this pro-morning attitude, but it sure makes mornings better for us.

Speaking of smiles, here's wishing Alicia and Matt a wonderful wedding day!

Seven Weeks Old

Our little Edie Pants is certainly getting older, bigger, and more active. Several times this week I've lifted up our little chippy and thought to myself "man this kid is getting heavy." She's still pretty little, but she's starting to grow out of some of her newborn clothes, and just starting to fit into others. We bought the peace onsie you see in this picture to bring Edie home from the hospital in. Alas, it's just starting to fit her now!

Edie & Maggie: Together Again!

Yesterday, the Milestones crew had meeting. Of course, both my coworker Penny and I brought our little ones. Penny's beautiful baby girl was born 18 hours after Edie in the same hospital. I can't really consider them birthday twins as the Magster was born on August 6th... but, I have to believe these two ladies will have some sort of bond!

Papa's Little Bean Sprout

Photobucket

We've started reading to Edie... I usually read her a book during the day, and Kris reads to her at night. Kris is an awesome reader of books to children. It's so entertaining, I usually sit down and listen to him read.

Congratulations Madeline & Eric!

My good friend Madeline was hitched to her very nice beau on Saturday in Colorado Springs. It was yet another wedding I couldn't attend this year, but the whole TrygKerz clans wishes them a happy and fun future together.

Congrats Madeline & Eric... we'll visit soon... all those breweries await!

It's our Anniversary

Three years of wedding bliss...

Five Weeks Old

It's been quite a week for our little Chippy. Each day, she becomes more and more aware of her surroundings... staring at household objects for minutes, following objects with her eyes, and (just yesterday) smiling and cooing at her mum + pop. She also is a pro at holding her head up... so, yesterday we gave the Bumbo chair a try and she loved it! Well, not sure if she loved it, but she didn't hate the thing.

She also met tons of faux Aunts, Uncles and cousins this weekend at UsFest. We can't wait until next year when she'll be able to run around (or crawl) with all the kids!

Yesterday, Edie had her one month check up. She is officially 8lb 10 oz and 21 inches long (up from 7 lb and 19.5 inches long just three weeks ago). I guess all those marathon feedings have really paid off.

UsFest II

UsFest, now an annual tradition held on Labor Day weekend, is three wonderful days full of conversation, kids, food and sunshine. This year was as good, if not better, than last year... and we already can't wait until UsFest III.

The UsFest crew grew this year with the addition of Mingus (Erin & Tony's pup), Liam (Al & Jen's 7 month old son) and, of course, little Edie.

Waking up is hard work.

Edie doesn't like waking up, and it's usually quite a process. I think she inherited that trait from her mum.

Four Weeks Old

Our little bean sprout continues to grow, and grow, and grow. There have been a few crazy feeding days this week... and few all day sleeping days as well. I swear her thighs have doubled in size!

She is also becoming more and more aware of her surroundings. She is able to follow you with her eyes, grip you finger like there is no tomorrow, and I swear that we've gotten a few real smiles out of her. If they are not real, we're at least getting close.

She also had her first case of the sniffles yesterday. The poor bug had a runny nose and was congested all day... very, very tired as well. But, she seems okay today. However, it made me realize how completely paranoid a new mom can be... I was so close to bringing her into the doctor.
